Student girl chasing cheap eats and cute photo spots.
After class escape but make it… Melaka core 😭
I took the bus, dropped my bag, and just walked. No plan. Best plan.
Started at Jonker Street (yes yes touristy, but the vibes). Those shophouses are literally made for IG—pastel walls, old wooden shutters, and that warm sun hitting from the side.
Then I followed the Melaka River Walk all the way towards the red buildings at Dutch Square. The river smelled a bit like… river 😅 but the breeze was saving me.
I grabbed a coconut shake near Jonker, about RM6–12, and drank it while watching boats slide by. Sticky hands, cold cup, brain finally quiet.
Cheap eats moment: chicken rice balls at a small shop off Jonker, about RM10–20 for a simple set. It’s not “wow fine dining” but it’s cute and filling, very student-friendly.
Best photo trick: stand on the little bridge near the river, wait for the boat to pass, snap when the water ripples. Suddenly everything looks cinematic.
I kept walking until my legs complained, then sat on the steps near the riverside murals like I belonged there. If you go… go around 5pm. The light is soft-soft.
Tell me if you’re team river walk or team Jonker snacks because I couldn’t choose and now I want both again
